Copilot Agent License and Permissions

To create a Copilot agent to find policies and procedures in a SharePoint document library, your organization needs to meet certain licensing and permission requirements:

1. Licenses Required:
   • Your organization must have one of the following base licenses:
     • Office 365 E3, E5, or A5
     • Microsoft 365 E1, E3, E5, or A5
   • Additionally, you need a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. At least one user in your organization must be assigned a Copilot license, which does not necessarily have to be a SharePoint administrator.
2. Administrator Requirements:
   • You must be a SharePoint administrator or have equivalent permissions to create and manage the Copilot agent.

These requirements ensure that you have the necessary access and capabilities to utilize Copilot features effectively in SharePoint.
