Copilot Studio Agent Handoff Issue – No Response After Handoff in Teams

Hi,

I’m using Copilot Studio to create two agents: Agent A and Agent B. Agent B is connected to Agent A, and the setup is designed so that Agent A will hand off to Agent B if Agent A cannot find an answer. This works fine within Copilot Studio during testing. However, when deployed to Microsoft Teams, the handoff seems to hang and produces no response.

Has anyone experienced this issue or know what might be causing the handoff to fail in Teams? Any guidance or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.

It seems you are experiencing issues with the handoff between Agent A and Agent B in Microsoft Teams. One potential reason for the handoff hanging could be related to the limitations of agent orchestration in Teams. Specifically, if the handoff is not properly configured or if there are issues with the authentication tokens due to Conditional Access policies, it may prevent the agents from communicating effectively.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can consider:

    1. Check Configuration: Ensure that the handoff configuration between the two agents is correctly set up in Copilot Studio.
    2. Authentication Issues: Verify if there are any Conditional Access policies in place that might be affecting the agents' ability to communicate. If the agents are unable to acquire the necessary authentication tokens, they may not respond as expected.
    3. Testing in Teams: Test the handoff functionality directly in Microsoft Teams to see if the issue persists outside of the Copilot Studio testing environment.
    4. Community Support: Engage with the Power Platform Community forums or the Microsoft Tech Community for Copilot Studio to see if others have faced similar issues and what solutions they might have found.

If the problem continues, reaching out to Microsoft Support with details about your setup may also be beneficial.
