how to install office 365 locally to drive different than c on my Mac?

I need to install office to my SSd hard drive as my main drive will not allow me to update operateing system with office installed. Want to send to drive not c: or mac hard drive.

WHy can i not choose when installing?

    This is a requirement of the Mac operating system — Application programs must be installed on the startup volume. If there is no room on the startup volume you need to free up space by deleting unneeded content & moving user documents to a different volume. Office doesn't prevent OS updates or upgrades but lack of free space definitely can do so.
