I have been stuck in a password reset nightmare the last couple of days.

  1. My account gets locked, and i have to create a new password.
  2. I create a new password and sign in
  3. When i try to sign in on another device, i get a message that i have tried signing in with a wrong password too many times (Even though i have not tried signing in anywhere else)
  4. Back to step 1

I have now reset my password 5 times. What do i do?

It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating cycle with your password resets and account lockouts. Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

    1. Contact Your Administrator: Since your account is getting locked, it’s essential to contact your Active Directory administrator. They can help unlock your account and reset your password if necessary.
    2. Check Password Requirements: Ensure that the new password you are creating meets the domain's password complexity requirements. If your new password doesn't meet these criteria, it may lead to further issues.
    3. Wait for Lockout Period: If you get locked out after multiple failed attempts, there is typically a lockout period (often around 5 minutes). Make sure to wait before trying to log in again.
    4. Use Security Information: If you have set up security information, you might be able to reset your password using that method. This is only available if your global admin has enabled it.
    5. Try Different Devices: If possible, try signing in from a different device or network to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, device-specific issues can cause problems.
    6. Document Errors: Keep a record of any error messages you receive, as this information can be helpful when discussing the issue with your administrator or support team.

If the problem continues, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.
