Until recently, as I plugged my Google Pixel 4a phone camera in to my desktop (Windows 10) it immediately showed up on Explorer. However, suddenly it just wasn't showing, although it does a sort of beep when it is connected. I have tried numerous way to sort this until finally, yesterday spending over 7 hours with an "Expert" at my cost trying to get this sorted. She seemed very capable and tried numerous way of trying to get the problem solved, removing and re-installing various driver etc, but as my dinnertime came around I called it a day and gave up.

Did Microsoft do anything recently that might have caused this problem, that you may also have a fix for please?

Best Regards

Open the Settings App on your phone.

Type USB into the search box in the phones settings app.

Ensure that USB is set to File Sharing or MTP.

Then in Windows, open the Settings App.

Go to Bluetooth and Devices - AutoPlay

Set Removable Devices to open File Explorer or 'Ask me every time' when they are connected.
Then connect your phone to your PC to check if you can then see the storage on your phone in File Explorer.
