Whatever I am sharing under Loop comments in Outlook, the end users are not able to edit it. They only get the option to view it. How can we fix this?

    Dear @Sanjay Bhakuni,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand the difficulty you are having when sharing Loop components via Outlook comments, only to find the end users are restricted to a Read-Only view. This issue is almost always related to the default sharing permissions set when the Loop component is created, or a system-wide policy preventing recipients from editing content.

The image you provided explicitly shows the "Read-Only" warning, which confirms a permissions problem.

Here is the step-by-step solution to ensure your recipients have edit access:

1.Check and Set Permissions Before Sending

When you first copy a Loop component to share into an Outlook email, a sharing dialog should appear.

    • Look for the Sharing Settings button (often a gear icon) just below the component link.
    • Click that link/button to open the sharing dialog.
    • Under the More settings or Link settings section, make sure the permission is set to Can edit (or Allow editing), not "Can view" or "Read-Only."

    2.Check Organization-Wide External Sharing Policies

If your recipients are external to your company, the issue may be a security policy.

Your Microsoft 365 Administrator may have disabled external sharing for Loop components or OneDrive/SharePoint content (which is where Loop components are stored). If this is the case, you will only be able to share with edit rights among users within your own domain.

3.Check for Read-Only Status on Initial Component

While unlikely for a newly created component, if you copied the Loop component from another source, that source component might have been set to read-only at its origin.

Always create a new component for sharing to ensure you have control over the initial permissions.

If you are following Step 1 correctly and still experiencing the read-only issue with internal users, you should contact your IT administrator, as a tenant-level policy may be overriding your individual sharing choices.

I hope this information helps clarify the situation and provides you with workable solutions. Should you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're always here to help. Have a wonderful day!

Where is that. I can not see that option. Can you provide a screenshot of that.
