    This worked for me:

Edge Settings -> Appareance -> scroll down and search for Fonts and then:

    Font size: Medium

    Minimum font size: Medium

    Standard font: Arial

    Serif font: Arial

    Sans-serif font: Arial

    Fixed-width font: Arial

Then go to edge://flags/ -> Reset all -> Restart Edge

Then once again edge://flags/ -> Search for "New Pdf viewer" -> Disable -> Restart Edge

    That should do it.

The issue you're experiencing with the comments box in the Edge PDF viewer, where the font appears differently while typing compared to the final result, may be related to specific rendering problems. According to the known issues with Microsoft Edge, some text isn't displayed correctly when viewing certain PDF files, particularly those containing Japanese fonts. This could potentially affect how comments are rendered in the PDF viewer.

If you're encountering this issue, you might consider enabling the new Adobe Acrobat powered built-in PDF reader, which could resolve some rendering problems. Additionally, ensure that your Edge browser is updated to the latest version, as fixes are regularly released for known issues.

For more specific troubleshooting, you might want to check if the issue persists across different PDF files or if it's isolated to a particular document.

This is a widely reported problem caused by a recent Edge update, many people are reporting this problem.

Open Edge, then paste this into the Address Bar and press Enter:

    edge://flags/#edge-new-pdf-viewer

Disable the 'New PDF Viewer' flag in there.

Restart Edge to apply the changes to see if that resolves the problem.

If not, try scrolling down this link to find an older version of Edge and install that version.
