Hi!!

So I have different targets when wanting to search files in the SharePoint On-Premise.

I have one main site where every users has lector permission, no one can edit. There I need an advanced search that finds only the files (elements, not folders) in the public library in the main site. I have the searcher created but I am struggling to get only that content: https://dori-uw-1.kuma-moon.com/en-us/answers/questions/5653466/find-files-in-advanced-searcher-in-sp-on-premise

So what I would like now, is to create exactly the same, but for a private library in a subsite, so people who is currently working with the files can find them there fastly and work with it. Where should I go to create another one? Then I think I just need to copy the exact web parts and query form the other one.

Thanks for your help!!

With this feature I would be using SP advanced searcher at 100%. One for the public site, and differents for each subsite, total of 3 or 4 maybe I would need.

I have found this feature in advanced settings:

    Hi @Charlie Martharper

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

You can go to each subsite and create a new page there inside that subsite.

From there, you recreate the Search Center style page inside that subsite and place the same Web Parts (Search Box, Search Results, ...) you used on the main site.

Then just edit the web parts query to return values on from that subsite/ private library.

    I hope this helps.

To create separate advanced searchers for your main site and subsites in SharePoint On-Premise, you can follow these general steps:

    1. Create a New Search Center: For each site or subsite where you want a different advanced search, you may need to create a new Search Center site collection. This allows you to customize the search experience for each target audience.
    2. Configure Search Vertical: Once you have your Search Center set up, you can create search verticals that are tailored to the specific content types you want to search. For example, you can create a vertical for the public library in the main site and another for the private library in the subsite.
    3. Set Up Web Parts: You can copy the web parts from your existing search configuration to the new Search Center. Make sure to adjust the query settings in the web parts to filter results according to the specific library you want to search.
    4. Customize Query Forms: Modify the query forms to ensure they target the correct libraries. You can specify the library in the query settings to ensure only files (elements) are returned, excluding folders.
    5. Test the Search Functionality: After setting up the new searchers, test them to ensure they return the expected results. Make adjustments as necessary to refine the search experience.

By following these steps, you should be able to create separate advanced searchers for both your main site and subsites, allowing users to find files efficiently in each context.
