Dear Erin Cruz
Thank you for posting your question on the Q&A forum.
To better assist you, could you please share your macOS version and the Office version/build?
After restarting your Mac, does the issue occur immediately or after some time?
- You can also try resetting preferences by opening Finder, pressing Command + Shift + G, typing
~/Library/Preferences, and removing the following files:com.microsoft.Powerpoint.plist,com.microsoft.Excel.plist, andcom.microsoft.Word.plist. - Please check the update channel by opening Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, going to Help > Check for Updates > Advanced, and confirming whether you are on the Beta Channel. If so, you may switch to the Current Channel, or vice versa.
- Another step is to review your OneDrive setup. Check if you are signed in with two OneDrive accounts at the same time, as this can cause conflicts and lead to apps becoming unresponsive. Also verify that your OneDrive version matches your Office version. If needed, back up all files on OneDrive Web first, then unlink this Mac, uninstall OneDrive, and reinstall it through the App Store to see if this resolves the issue.
- Sometimes this issue is caused by an older macOS version not matching the Office version, so please try updating macOS or Office to see if the issue still persists.
Please try these suggestions and provide feedback. Also share your macOS version and Office version build via private message for further assistance. Please understand that the initial reply may not always immediately resolve the issue. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
