How do I fix Microsoft Store not installing on Windows 10?

I recently uninstalled Microsoft Store after finding out that I can't open an app page without the Microsoft Store app closing and doing nothing. During the process of trying to fix this issue, I have found that Microsoft Store will not re-install, even after multiple attempts of trying to do so.

Every time I try to run the .exe installer for Microsoft Store it sends me to the Microsoft Store website to install the .exe installer again. I have tried using Powershell to reinstall Microsoft Store which has not worked. Support would be much appreciated.

If the issue still persists, please try performing an In-place Upgrade. It will definitely help in resolving update errors. Performing this can repair broken operating system files while your personal files, settings and installed applications will not be removed.

Few things to check on the PC

    • Unplug all external peripherals except for the Mouse, Keyboard, and LAN cable before starting
    • Disable or uninstall any third-party Antivirus program to prevent it from interfering with the upgrade

Download the media creation tool (Click Download tool now) and save it to your computer.

    https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows10

Open the tool and select Upgrade this PC now.

Make sure to select Keep personal files and apps.

It might take some time to install Windows 10. Your computer will restart a few times, make sure you don’t turn off your PC

To fix the issue of Microsoft Store not installing on Windows 10 after you have uninstalled it, you can try the following steps:

    1. Check if Microsoft Store is registered for your user account: Open PowerShell (non-elevated) and run the following command:
         Get-AppxPackage *Microsoft.WindowsStore*

If Microsoft Store is not listed, you need to re-register it.
    2. Re-register Microsoft Store: Run PowerShell as an administrator and execute the following command:
         Add-AppxPackage -Register -DisableDevelopmentMode "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.WindowsStore_*.appx"

Make sure to replace the path with the correct one if necessary.
    3. Use the winget tool: If you have the Windows Package Manager (winget) installed, you can try to install Microsoft Store using the following command:
         winget install Microsoft.Store

    4. Check your system settings: Ensure that your system setup allows for the installation of AppX packages and that there are no group policies preventing the installation.
    5. Reset Microsoft Store: If the above steps do not work, you can try resetting the Microsoft Store using the following command in PowerShell:
         Reset-AppxPackage -Package Microsoft.WindowsStore

    6. Check for Windows updates: Sometimes, updating Windows can resolve issues with the Microsoft Store. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to consider further troubleshooting or contacting Microsoft support for assistance.
