Hello,

I am having an issue with signing in to my Microsoft 365 admin account due to a problem with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). The configured MFA method is currently not functioning, and as a result, I am unable to complete the sign-in process.

Since I cannot access the account in any other way, I kindly request assistance with resetting or disabling MFA for my admin account so that I can regain access.

If any additional information or verification is required, please let me know and I will provide it promptly.

Thank you very much for your help.

    Hello @김민수

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Community!

Thank you for reaching out regarding the issue with signing in to your Microsoft 365 admin account due to Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

Unfortunately, for security reasons, I cannot directly disable or reset MFA on your account without proper verification. However, here are the recommended steps to regain access:

If you have multiple MFA options configured (such as SMS, backup authenticator app, or hardware token), please attempt to sign in using one of those methods.

If there is another global administrator in your tenant, they can reset your MFA settings by:

    • Signing in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center
    • Navigating to Users > Active Users
    • Selecting your account and choosing Manage multifactor authentication to reset your MFA.

Please follow the steps shown in the following article: Manage authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multi-factor authentication - Microsoft Entra ID …

If no other admin exists, you’ll need to contact Microsoft’s Data Protection and Recovery team for admin account recovery. This is a specialized process for organizational accounts.

Please note that forum moderators have no control over user accounts, especially when it comes to logging in to your account, resetting your password, changing your access, asking for invoice info, etc.

With your Admin account, please try creating the ticket via the phone number in this article Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support

When calling, please select the option for Microsoft 365 or Teams support. It is important to have the following information ready:

    • Your organization’s tenant domain (for example, yourcompany.onmicrosoft.com)
    • Subscription details or any billing information associated with the account
    • Proof of identity and ownership of the tenant, as Microsoft will verify this before proceeding

Having this information prepared will help expedite the verification process.

When you call the hotline, they will ask you what kind of problem you are struggling with.

    Answer: Authenticator.

A: What products do you use?

    B: Office 365 for business.

    Verification: Education or company account?

    B: For companies

    A: Are you an administrator?

    B: Yes.

A: Are there any other administrators in your organization?

    B: No.

A: I need one.... Service request?

    B: Yes

    Note:

Sometimes, you may first hear an automated voice message. Please wait until it finishes. If an agent is available, you will then be connected and receive assistance.

After submitting your support ticket, it may take some time for it to be assigned to an agent. Due to the high volume of requests, there could be delays in handling your case. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

If your organization's Office 365 Business/Education subscription is from a partner or reseller, and the global administrator is unable to open a service request on your end, contact the reseller's support provider to help open a service request on behalf of you instead.

Thank you very much for your valuable time and your cooperation.
