We launched four Catalog reviews and only one populated in the access review dashboard for the reviewer. We would like to understand why this is happening and how we can better test and ensure these kickoff properly.

If only one of the four Catalog reviews populated in the access review dashboard, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some potential troubleshooting steps and considerations:

    1. Review Configuration: Ensure that all four catalog reviews were configured correctly. Check if the resources were properly added to the catalog and if the access reviews were set up with the right parameters.
    2. Access Review Status: Verify the status of each access review. Sometimes, reviews may not appear in the dashboard if they are still in a pending state or if there were issues during the creation process.
    3. Permissions: Confirm that the reviewers have the necessary permissions to view all the access reviews. If a reviewer lacks access rights to specific resources, those reviews may not show up.
    4. Email Notifications: Ensure that the email notifications for the access reviews were sent out correctly. Managers should receive notifications directing them to the My Access portal to complete the reviews.
    5. Portal Navigation: Make sure that the reviewers are navigating to the correct section in the My Access portal. They should be looking under the Access reviews section to see all pending reviews.
    6. Testing the Process: To better test and ensure that access reviews kick off properly, consider running a smaller test with a limited number of resources and reviewers. Monitor the process closely to identify any issues that arise during the setup or notification phases.
    7. Consult Documentation: Refer to the official Microsoft documentation for detailed guidance on setting up and managing catalog access reviews, which may provide additional insights into common issues and their resolutions.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify the cause of the issue and ensure that future access reviews are initiated correctly.

You asked your question with a Microsoft Access Database development tag. I would normally edit the tags but have no idea what MS product you are asking about. If it is "Microsoft 365 and Office | Access | For business | Windows", then please supply more information about your database application.
