Weird excel behaviour when pressing shift + arrow keys for selecting multiple cells in a column

In the microsoft excel, when i press the shift key and arrow down for multiple cells in a column, the view is kind of messing up instead of moving down as moving down the cells. NO SCREEN LOCK IS ON.

Additionally, when pressing shift key and arrow up starting from the bottom of a range, excel selects up to two cells and then let's say resets and deselects the cells starting over again.

    According to your concern, I suggest you should double check these things:

    1- Check if extend selection is enabled

    Excel has Extend Selection mode which triggered by pressing F8 may have impact on how Shift + Arrow behaves. If the mode is on, you can turn this mode off by pressing Esc and see if the issue persists

    2- Open Excel safe mode

    Excel safe mode disables all add-ins and custom settings and makes it runs in the original state. You can try opening Excel safe mode by press Windows + R to open Run dialog box > type excel /safe > press OK to run and check if the issue persists there.

    Thank you very much for your prompt answer. Running excel in safe mode indeed did not present the issue and that made me think about the add-ins. Then I deactivated and activated each add-in separately and eventually found out that the glitch is due to specific add-in.
