I am unable to remove a child account from my Microsoft Family group.

When I click “Remove from family group” for the child account, it redirects to the

Manage Permissions page, but no child is listed there so removal is blocked.

My family setup is:

  1. Bellapukonda Vinay Kumar – Family Organizer
  2. 525 Harshitha – Family Organizer
  3. Harshitha Bellamkonda – Member (child)

Problem:

• Remove option redirects to Manage Permissions page

• Manage consent page is empty

• Cannot revoke consent

• Cannot remove child account

• Tried adding second organizer

• Tried removing/adding accounts

• Tried birthdate update to 18+

• Tried parental consent page

• Still loops back to same screen

I need Microsoft to manually remove/unlink the child account or dissolve the family.

Child account: ******@outlook.com

Organizers: ******@gmail.com, +91 93814 42601

Please force remove this child account from the family on your end. Thank you.

It seems you are experiencing issues with removing a child account from your Microsoft Family group. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Check Permissions: Ensure that you are logged in as a Family Organizer. Only Family Organizers have the ability to remove members from the family group.
    2. Clear Browser Cache: Sometimes, browser cache can cause issues with web applications. Try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser.
    3. Use the Microsoft Family Safety App: If you are unable to remove the child account through the website, consider using the Microsoft Family Safety app on your mobile device to manage family members.
    4. Contact Microsoft Support: If the above steps do not work, you may need to contact Microsoft Support for assistance. They can help you manually remove the child account from your family group.

Unfortunately, I cannot perform the removal myself or access specific accounts, but following these steps should help you resolve the issue.

    Hello,

Try checking their account privacy settings.

    https://account.microsoft.com/account/privacy

There may be restrictions in there that aren't available in the family safety settings.

    Hope this helps,

    JC
