How do i import a 'Classic' Outlook .pst file into a 'Classic' Outlook? I tried doing it but after i click 'FINISH' nothing happens

Thank you for contacting the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Through my testing of importing a .pst file into Classic Outlook, a progress box appears during the process. Once the import is complete, the progress box disappears. However, in some cases, the mailbox may not immediately appear because the import finishes very quickly.

After the import, the data will appear in the corresponding folders based on their original dates. You may need to scroll through the folders to confirm that the items were imported correctly.

If you prefer to open the .pst file in a separate folder, you can use the Open Outlook Data File option and compare the data with the folder where you previously imported the file.

Hi Virgil-V

Unfortunatly, it still does not work. To be noted is that the files to be imported is .pst files whereas the emails that are already in the new computer is .ost.

Any suggestion on how i can resolve this problem is more appreciated

Hi, I am not sure how to do a screenshot as the issue is that the imported emails do not appear in the new laptop Outlook respective email boxes. I followed your steps but after i click 'Finish', nothing happens.

In addition, when i send out an email using Outlook using my new laptop, a copy of the sent email does not get stored in the 'Sent' mailbox. Also, when i delete an email from my Inbox, a copy of the deleted email does not appear in the 'Deleted' mailbox.

If possible, could you please share a screenshot after you open the Outlook Data File, sent through a private message? This will help me visually confirm whether you want to import the PST file while retaining all data.

For confirmation, you can also check in New Outlook, as any PST imported in Classic Outlook should also be available there.

If your imported PST appears to retain all data, you might try creating a new Outlook profile. This can also help troubleshoot the issue where items do not appear in the Sent or Deleted folders.

Additionally, does the issue where items do not appear also occur in Outlook on the web or in New Outlook?
