Renewed Subscription for 365 But Having Errors on Desktop

Hi, I have renewed my Microsoft subscription in November through Apple and all was working fine on my laptop, desktop and phone. But just as of yesterday, my Excel, PowerPoint, and Word keeps throwing me this prompt that I need to get a 1-month trial to enjoy the full benefits of the programs. I clicked on it and tried to log in and activate my existing membership but it says I have no subscription found.

My email address for my apple registered is ******@yahoo.com.sg so I don't understand why there's an issue using the same email to register. My app on my phone is still working fine. Kindly assist and advice. Thank you,

It sounds like you're experiencing activation issues with your Microsoft 365 subscription on your desktop applications, despite having renewed your subscription. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Check Subscription Status: Ensure that your subscription is active. You can do this by logging into the Microsoft 365 Admin Center or checking your Microsoft account online.
    2. Sign Out and Sign In: Open one of the Microsoft 365 apps (like Word or Excel), sign out of your account, and then sign back in using the same email address associated with your subscription.
    3. Update Microsoft 365: Make sure your Microsoft 365 apps are up to date. Open an app, go to File > Account, and check for updates under Update Options.
    4. Reset Activation State: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to reset the activation state of your Microsoft 365 apps. Instructions can be found in the Microsoft support documentation.
    5. Check for Multiple Accounts: Ensure that you are not logged into a different Microsoft account that does not have the subscription. Sometimes, users have multiple accounts and might accidentally log into the wrong one.

If these steps do not resolve your issue, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.

    Hi Desmond,

Are you sure you have a Linked or Microsoft 365 subscription from the Apple Store to the correct Microsoft account? I believe Microsoft Office is free for iPhones.

    Via https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/how-to-remove-office-license-files-on-a-mac-b032c0f6-a431-4dad-83a9-6b727c03b193

    1. Download the license removal tool.
    2. Open the .pkg file from your Mac's Downloads folder.

Note: If you get an "unidentified developer" error, try opening the file by holding Control + clicking the file > Open.

    1. Select Continue and follow the prompts in the setup wizard.

Caution: We recommend you double-check that you have the correct account info ready by logging into Office.com/signin and checking for the license you want to activate with.

Click continue and follow the prompts on the installer.

    1. When you're ready to complete the license removal, select Install. You may need to enter your Mac's local admin account password.

After the tool successfully removes licenses, select Close.

Click Install on the tool to remove licenses.

    1. Now open any Office app and sign in to activate with the email account associated with your Microsoft 365 for Mac license. If you're troubleshooting an issue, you may need to reinstall Office before signing in.

After you've successfully activated, restart your computer and then you're good to go!

Note: If your account has both a Microsoft 365 for Mac license and a one-time purchase associated with it, you'll be prompted to choose which license you want to activate with. We recommend always choosing Microsoft 365 for Mac if available.

    1. Uninstall the License Removal Tool by dragging the Microsoft_Office_License_Removal file from Finder > Downloads to Trash.

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.
