Bought Office 2024 and downloaded successfully but can't create documents

Bought Office 2024 and downloaded "successfully" (took 3 tries to fully succeed).After opening Excel or Word it will not let me create a document because it says I don't have Office 365. I don't want 365 I just want to activate my Office 2024 and create documents. Have tried multiple times and struggled through the support options just to get here. I just need the download to work and let me use Office 2024. Help me please

    Hi!

    Did you purchase Office from Microsoft or third-party websites?

    Where were you trying to download Office from?

    Is your account correctly linked to Office? Open Word or Excel > Go to File > Accounts > Check if the linked email is the same email as the account you downloaded from.

    • Maybe your Windows email address is different from the one you linked to the license.

    Try downloading Office from https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps or https://account.microsoft.com/account?lang=en-us > Subscriptions.
