Whenever I try to save a calendar invite to outlook, it alway opens up the Apple calendar. How do I correct this? The invite is as a .ics file. I do not have a problem saving the invite when I am on a computer running Microsoft. Thanks.

If you're experiencing issues with saving a calendar invite from an .ics file in Outlook on your Mac, and it keeps opening in the Apple Calendar instead, you may want to check your default calendar application settings. Here are some steps you can follow to correct this:

    1. Set Outlook as the Default Calendar App:
      • Go to System Preferences on your Mac.
      • Click on Internet Accounts.
      • Select your account that is linked to Outlook.
      • Ensure that Outlook is set as the default calendar application.
    2. Open the .ics File with Outlook:
      • Right-click the .ics file and select Open With.
      • Choose Microsoft Outlook from the list of applications. If it’s not listed, you may need to select Other and find Outlook in your Applications folder.
    3. Check Outlook Settings:
      • Open Outlook and go to Preferences.
      • Under Calendar, ensure that the settings align with your preferences for handling invites and events.
    4. Reinstall Outlook (if necessary):
      • If the problem persists, consider reinstalling Outlook to ensure that all settings are correctly configured.

By following these steps, you should be able to save calendar invites directly in Outlook without them defaulting to Apple Calendar.

    Hello,

    Go to settings, default apps,

    If you're on Windows

Under calendar change it to outlook so it doesn't open apple calendar.

    If you're on Mac

Calendar > Settings, then click General

    Hope this helps,

    JC
