There are several potential causes for installation errors when trying to add an Excel add-in on Mac OS. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take:

    1. Check Time and Date: Ensure that the time and date on your Mac are set correctly. An incorrect time and date can cause issues when verifying the add-in's manifest.
    2. Manifest Validation: Verify that the add-in's manifest is valid. You can refer to the documentation on how to validate an Office Add-in's manifest.
    3. Reinstall the Add-in: If the add-in package was tampered with before installation, this could lead to errors. Try downloading the add-in again and reinstalling it.
    4. Office Updates: Make sure that you have the latest updates installed for your Office applications. Sometimes, installation issues can arise from outdated software.
    5. Feedback and Support: If the issue persists, consider reporting the problem through the Office feedback tool. This can help the Office extensibility team understand and address the issue.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and potentially resolve the installation error you are experiencing.
