The information provided does not specifically address the issue of restoring the PIN functionality for your iCloud email in Outlook for Mac. However, it is important to note that Outlook for Mac does not support Apple iCloud calendar (CalDAV) and contact (CardDAV) synchronization, which may affect certain functionalities. If you are experiencing issues with the PIN option, it might be beneficial to check if there are any updates available for Outlook or to review the settings related to app protection policies, as these can sometimes impact features like PIN functionality.

For further assistance, consider checking the Microsoft support documentation or contacting Microsoft support directly for issues related to app PINs and account settings.

    Dear Jude Garzolini

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Q&A forum and for the crucial clarification in your follow-up comment. I understand that after re-adding your iCloud.com email account to Outlook for Mac, the email pinning feature (to keep an email at the top of your inbox) is no longer available.

I see there is an AI-generated answer on your thread. It appears the AI misinterpreted "PIN" as a security feature, so its suggestions regarding app protection policies and synchronization are not relevant to the inbox pinning feature you're asking about. Let's focus on restoring that specific functionality.

Since the "Pin" feature is integral to the New Outlook experience, the issue may be related to how the third-party account is being synced or the current client state. Please try these steps:

Step 1: Check for the Pin Option

The feature might be present but hidden from your current view.

    • Check the Right-Click Menu: Right-click on any email in your inbox. Do you see an option for "Pin" or "Unpin" in the context menu?
    • Check the Ribbon/Toolbar: Select an email. Look at the top ribbon bar. Is the Pin icon (a pushpin) visible?
    • Customize the Toolbar (if the icon is missing): If the Pin icon isn't on the ribbon, click the three dots (...) on the far right of the ribbon and select "Customize Toolbar...". In the window that opens, see if the Pin command is listed. If it is, you can drag it onto your visible toolbar.

Step 2: Refresh the Outlook Client (Toggle View)

A full client refresh can often resolve missing UI elements. This is often the most effective step.

    1. Go to the Outlook menu (or the Help menu).
    2. Look for the option labeled "Legacy Outlook" or "Revert to Classic Outlook".
    3. If available, select it. Once Outlook switches, immediately go back to the same menu and choose "Try the new Outlook" or "Switch to new Outlook".
    4. Check if the Pin option or icon has returned.

Step 3: Confirm Your Outlook Version

If the pin option is still missing after the steps above, please provide your exact version number so we can investigate further.

    1. In Outlook, go to the Outlook menu in the top-left corner.
    2. Select About Outlook.
    3. Please reply with the full Version number you see (e.g., "Version 16.xx (Build xxxxx)").

We appreciate your effort on this issue. I look forward to your next update for further analysis.
