I have OneDrive running on a macOS 12.7.6. OneDrive was having issues syncing possibly due to incompatibility issues. After downgrading OneDrive to a version that supports macOS 12, my recent folders/files are no longer on the OneDrive. I've located some files on recent MS apps but when I tried to open them, an error pops up saying either files have be deleted/moved somewhere. But the recycling bin for the computer and for OneDrive is empty.

    Hi @Raymond Francisco,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for contacting us. I would like to provide you with the following information:

Please follow these steps to restore your OneDrive files:

    Method 1: Check Version History

    • Step 1: Go to https://onedrive.live.com
    • Step 2: Click on the three dots next to your file User's image
    • Step 3: Select Version history > Restore

Method 2: Restore OneDrive to a point before the issue occurred

    • Step 1: Go to https://onedrive.live.com
    • Step 2: Click on Settings > Restore OneDrive User's image
    • Step 3: Choose a time before the issue happened User's image

I noticed that your account is tagged as education, so I’ll provide additional information based on that. Since your account is an education account, it is managed by your school’s administrator (possibly the school’s IT department).

If the above steps do not successfully restore your files, you can contact your school’s IT department for assistance through the Microsoft 365 admin center.

I hope this information is helpful. Please try the steps above and let me know the result. If the issue persists, we will work together to find a solution.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please share them in the comments so I can continue to support you.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Hello Ryan,

I tried that but the restore didn't find any recent files. The most recent file saved is from 2024. I even tried to restore it from a month back and still no new files were found.
