Dear Jennifer F Sklarew
Thank you for posting your question on the Q&A Forum.
For the first issue with the first assignment: The error URL you provided (onedrive.live.com) shows the link is pointing to a personal OneDrive. Since this is a student assignment, please make sure you’re signed in with your school account. Please try this method to see if you can access the assignment:
- Open a browser in Private/Incognito mode and sign in with your school account. This ensures a fresh session without cached credentials.
- If you can access the assignment in Private mode, clear your browser cache.
- Consider using Microsoft Edge for multiple profiles, or keep your personal account in Edge and use another browser for your school account to access all school links without conflicts.
For the second issue: The message indicates the document is protected by an Information Rights Management (IRM) label, which requires opening in the desktop version of Word with your school account. Since you’re experiencing a sign-in loop, you might need to clear Office credentials from Keychain:
- Close all Microsoft Office apps (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Open Finder > Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access.
- In the search bar, type Office and delete all entries.
- Search for ADAL and delete any entries.
- Restart your Mac.
- Open any Office app (e.g., Word) and sign in with your school account, then retry accessing the second assignment. You might need to download the second assignment.
If this does not resolve the problem, use the Office License Removal Tool. For details, please see this link: How to remove Office license files on a Mac
Please note that if your school account does not have a license for the desktop app, you may need to contact the assignment owner and ask them to modify the sensitivity label so it can be opened in Office for the web, or contact your IT admin to assign the appropriate license.
Please try these suggestions and provide feedback. Looking forward to your reply.
