Dear @Chan, Wilson,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum. We are happy to assist.
If the files were deleted within the last 30 days (or according to your organization’s retention policy), you can restore all of your OneDrive files from a previous point in time, including previous versions of files. Here is how:
- Go to the OneDrive website
- Click the Settings icon (gear) at the top right.
- Select Restore your OneDrive.
- Choose the time to which you want to restore your files. You can select a date before the issue occurred.
- After selecting the desired restore time, click Restore.
This will restore all files back to the state they were in at that time, including any deleted files.
If you have tried the steps above, then you can follow the instructions in this link: Restore a previous version of an item or file in SharePoint
You can use version history in OneDrive to recover previous versions of your files, and these options will help in assessing if there are earlier versions available of a file that might have been deleted.
Here is how:
- Go to the OneDrive website.
- Click the Settings icon (gear) at the top right > OneDrive settings.
- Click on More settings > Storage metric
- Go to the folder where the missing file was located > click Version History. You’ll see all available versions of the file. Choose the version you want to restore, then download it.
Note: Version History is available for files in OneDrive, and you can restore them back to a previous state if they have been overwritten or deleted. If the file was not edited or saved with OneDrive versioning in place, or if it was deleted too long ago, you may not be able to access version history.
Since I do not have access to your tenant environment, there may be cases where my recommended solutions do not fully resolve the issue or other problems appear. If that happens, please update me right away with any new details or results in the Comment. I will do my best to support you and help find a solution as quickly as possible.
