How to tag people in a Teams chat Note on iphone or ipad

When I am using teams on my iPhone or iPad I cannot tag a person in the notes section of the teams' chat. Whenever I try, I get the message "Clear and try a different search" or "No suggestions available." There is a button with the @ that I try and select, but nothing happens when I press it. Has anyone else run into this issue?

    Hi @Hayden Carter,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing the details of your concern. I understand how important it is to use tagging for collaboration, and I appreciate the opportunity to clarify this for you.

Currently, the ability to tag people using @mentions in the Notes section of a Teams chat is not supported on iPhone or iPad. This feature works fully on the Teams desktop app and web version, but the mobile app has limitations in this area. This is why you see messages like “Clear and try a different search” or “No suggestions available” when attempting to tag someone.

However, here are workarounds you can consider:

    • Use Teams on desktop or web: If tagging in Notes is essential, switch to Teams on your PC/Mac or use the web version in a browser, where @mentions are fully supported.
    • Tag in the chat instead of Notes: You can @mention users directly in the chat message on iPhone or iPad. They’ll still get a notification even if Notes can’t tag them.
    • Ensure your Teams app is updated to the latest version for the best experience.

For more details, you can refer to Microsoft’s official documentation on collaborative notes: Use collaborative notes in Microsoft Teams chats.

I truly appreciate you sharing your feedback because it highlights a thoughtful and practical need that many organizations likely share. Suggestions like yours help us improve Microsoft Teams in meaningful ways.

I highly encourage you to submit your feedback directly through the Microsoft Teams · Community.
