How can I restore the "Send to Onenote" functionality in Mac Outlook

The "Send to Onenote" functionality has been missing in Outlook since early October (2 months). This has happened before, and it usually returned a week or two later when new updates are released for Outlook. It also is usually still available in Outlook for web. This time, it has been missing through multiple updates and is also missing from the Web view. I have submitted several feedback requests from Outlook for web with no response.
I am running Sequoia 15.7.2, Outlook Version 16.103.2 (25112216), A5 license.

Thanks,

    Dear @Grinnell, Michael (mg7aa),

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum!

Thank you for the detailed effort you’ve already put in, I know how frustrating it is when a familiar button disappears after updates. Also, I ran a quick test on my MacBook (Outlook for Mac 16.103.2, same as yours) and I saw that Send to OneNote is still available both in the app and in Outlook on the web.

    Here are my results:

I also check in Send emails and meetings from Outlook to OneNote for Mac article and it states that Send to OneNote is enabled as a standard Outlook feature. Currently it is not possible to disable or uninstall the Add-in. Moreover, to use this add-in, you'll need to access OneNote in the cloud with Microsoft 365 and Outlook.com accounts, not through a personal email account like Gmail.

One more information that I found in this Use add-ins in Outlook for Mac article:

This means Microsoft is moving add-in management to the web for consistency across platforms. So, you can’t remove or manage add-ins directly in the Mac App anymore, you must use the web interface. However, I checked it for you as well, this feature disappeared in AppSource (in both web and app).

So, from these insights, could you try to check again on the Outlook web: go to "..." icon > Apps to see if the Send to OneNote is available there like my testing on web above. If yes, please use it as temporary method.

For the Outlook app, I did not find any official confirmation about the disappearance of this feature, but it is still available on my environment, so I have these suggestions for you to try to see if it can help you to fix it:

1.You may try uninstalling and reinstalling your Outlook app. But you have to reinstall them by downloading Office version from the Microsoft's website, please do not download Outlook from your MacBook's App Store. (see steps and link below):

    • Go to Applications > select Microsoft Outlook> choose Move to Trash.
    • Download Office directly from Microsoft website instead.

You can see this link for more details for it: Download, install, or reinstall Microsoft 365 or Office 2024 on a PC or Mac

2.If you have already used Office that downloaded directly from the Microsoft's website:

You can try roll back to old versions > Uninstall your current version of Outlook > Go to the "Update history for Office for Mac" page and download the installer package for a stable older version, such as 16.102, 16.101, 16.100, 16.99.

Additionally, I tried to switch back to Legacy Outlook on my Mac and found that it has this feature there, you can try it as well. If this feature can use in Legacy Outlook, please use it as a workaround. See this link for more details: Outlook for Mac

I appreciate that you submitted feedback several times to Microsoft, however, they did not respond.
Therefore, I recommend that you can use Help > Contact Support instead of feedback for direct instructions and explanations from Microsoft. See details here: Contact support within Outlook for Mac

Moreover, I saw that you have A5 license, so you can request assistance from Microsoft 365 Admin Center if you are Global Administrator in your organization. If not, please contact your IT Admin to submit it for you for advanced help. You can consult more information in here: Get support for Microsoft 365 for business

As a forum moderator, I have limited in my resources and cannot access to internal databases to help you directly. However, I still tried to support you in my limit and give you insights of this concern. So please kindly try my suggestions and get advanced support with Microsoft if the issue cannot fix. I hope for your understanding in my limitations. And please feel free to let me know the result in the comment section.

Thank you very much for your detailed answer. I confirmed with a colleague that it seems to be limited to my machine or account, but I can't figure out how to fix it. See answers below, but I may have to open a case with our GA and Microsoft. I'm perplexed at how this could affect just me on both O365 and a local install.

So, from these insights, could you try to check again on the Outlook web: go to "..." icon > Apps to see if the Send to OneNote is available there like my testing on web above. If yes, please use it as temporary method.

"Go to OneNote" just opens Onenote but does not create a new page.User's image

I did this last night. I moved the app to trash and removed all of the various leftovers in ~/Library/* that mention Outlook in the name. I reinstalled Outlook using the installer from the O365 portal. The issue persists.

Heh, funny story. So I used to use that a lot, like when a new patch broke signatures or some other silly bug. At some point many months ago, it got stuck on an old ticket and I can't open a new one.

The hidden text in the first picture is "Your last conversation has been ended. Here is the transcript of your chat:"

The hidden text in the second picture when clicking the download link, "Please make sure the link is correct and try again. View details"

And there is no way to get back to the part where you can ask a new question.

    Thanks,
