Company now requires an "action plan" be formatted in OneNote. My team prefers to work in Excel and has already done extensive work in Excel. Is it possible to automate a copy/paste of 1:1 cell info into OneNote, instead of doing it manually? We are not allowed to embed the Excel file into OneNote, the information has to be pasted into the company provided template.

    Hi @KW,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A.

According to your concern, it's available to automate Excel content into OneNote without embedding the Excel file, but it requires using automation techniques such as Power Automate or Graph API since OneNote doesn't have built-in feature. You need to have an automation flow to read cell values from Excel, then convert them into HTML or XML compatible with OneNote and append this content into the designated template page.

For you receiving the best suggestion and guidance, I recommend posting your scenario in the Microsoft Power Platform Community Forum Thread. This forum is dedicated to Power Automate and is actively monitored by experienced users, Microsoft partners, and engineers who can provide detailed guidance and share best practices.

Automating a direct copy/paste from an Excel file to OneNote without embedding the Excel file is not explicitly covered in the provided context. However, it is generally possible to automate such tasks using programming techniques, like Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) or other scripting methods, to facilitate the transfer of data from Excel to OneNote.

You would typically use automation to read cell values from Excel and then use the OneNote API or other methods to paste these values into the desired OneNote template. This would allow you to achieve a 1:1 transfer of cell information without embedding the Excel file itself.

For specific implementation details, you may need to refer to documentation on automating Excel and OneNote or consider using third-party tools that can facilitate this process.
