Teams on Mobile only rings once

I have a problem with the Teams app on a Pixel 9: when I receive a call, it only rings or vibrates once (depending on the current setting).

This means the following sequence occurs:

  1. A call comes in.
  2. The call is displayed on the phone and it vibrates once.
  3. The call continues to be displayed, but it no longer vibrates.

I have deleted the app several times and checked the notifications, but I haven't found anything. Does anyone else have any ideas?

    Hi @Quirin

Thank you so much for sharing your question with us in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I’ve carefully reviewed your description and also looked into similar cases, but I couldn’t find any discussions that match this exact behavior. Based on my knowledge and experience, this seems to be related to how Android handles notifications and battery optimization, especially on Pixel devices running Android 14 or 15. In some cases, the system may treat an incoming Teams call as a regular notification (which only rings or vibrates once) instead of a continuous call event, or it may be limiting the app’s background activity to save battery.

Here’s something you can try: open your phone’s Settings, go to Apps > See all apps, select Teams, then tap App battery usage. Under “Allow background usage,” check if you can set it to Unrestricted. This will allow Teams to run fully in the background and handle call notifications properly.

I truly appreciate your understanding that I don’t have a Pixel 9 device to test this myself, and I haven’t found official documentation for this specific scenario yet. As a forum moderator, I also don’t have access to your backend systems or internal tools. If the steps above don’t resolve the issue, I’d recommend submitting feedback directly through the official channel here: Microsoft Teams · Community. This is the best way to raise the concern to the product team, as it may be a compatibility issue between Pixel 9 and the Teams app.
