I am upgrading from Home office 2019 for Mac to Home Office 2024 for Mac. After install, all of my MS apps say "Your office 2019 license is not supported with this version of the application." MS support is horrible. I’ve done all the steps suggested online (deleting container files, group container files, reinstalling, etc.) I’m to the point now where I’d like my money back but MS provides absolutely no customer support to even demand my money back. Do they not care at all whether customers can use their product?

Hello, Please use the instruction here: https://support.microsoft.com/office/how-to-remove-office-license-files-on-a-mac-b032c0f6-a431-4dad-83a9-6b727c03b193 Download and run the license removal tool, then try again and see if it works. The goal is to get the previous license out the way.

It sounds like you're encountering an issue with the license compatibility between Office 2019 and Office 2024 for Mac. When upgrading from an older version, it's important to ensure that the previous version is completely uninstalled before installing the new version to avoid any licensing conflicts.

Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

    1. Uninstall Office 2019 Completely: Make sure that all components of Office 2019 are removed from your Mac. This includes not just the applications but also any associated files and folders.
    2. Remove License Files: Follow the instructions to remove Office license files on a Mac. This can help clear any remnants of the old license that might be causing the conflict. You can find the guide here.
    3. Reinstall Office 2024: After ensuring that Office 2019 is completely uninstalled and the license files are removed, try reinstalling Office 2024.
    4. Check for Updates: Ensure that your Office 2024 installation is up to date by using Microsoft AutoUpdate.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to consider reaching out to Microsoft support again, as they may have additional troubleshooting steps or solutions specific to your situation.
