    Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft community and for sharing the screenshot. The error you’re seeing means Microsoft’s verification service isn’t able to send the security code to your recovery email, which is needed to unlock Personal Vault. This is usually a temporary issue with the service, not with your email address.

Just to confirm, does this error appear every time you try, or only occasionally? And have you tried using another verification method, like a phone number or the Microsoft Authenticator app? Knowing this helps us figure out if the problem is a service outage or something specific to your account, and whether there’s an alternative way to verify.

In the meantime, here are a few things you can try: wait a little and try again later, clear your browser cache or use an InPrivate window, switch to a different device or network, and check Microsoft’s service status page to see if there’s an outage - https://status.cloud.microsoft/.

If you have another verification option, like a phone number or Authenticator, use that instead.

Once you’re back in, it’s a good idea to add multiple recovery options so you don’t get locked out again.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes, I’m happy to assist further.

    Kind regards,

    Edward

    Hi,

I completely understand how urgent this is for you. The problem you’re facing is actually linked to Microsoft’s security policy. When you change your security information, like the email address used for verification, Microsoft puts strict measures in place to protect accounts from unauthorized access.

First, check if your original email is still accessible. If you can log in to it, try sending the verification code again. Sometimes delays happen because of email filters or server issues, so make sure to check your spam or junk folder and confirm that your email service is working properly.

If you can’t receive the code and don’t have another verification method, you’ll need to use the Microsoft Account Recovery form here: https://account.live.com/acsr .

Go to Microsoft Account Recovery and choose “I don’t have any of these.” Fill out the form with as much detail as possible, things like old passwords, the last time you logged in, devices you’ve used, and any services linked to your account such as Xbox, Outlook, or OneDrive. This helps Microsoft verify your identity manually.

If recovery attempts fail, contact Microsoft Support directly at Microsoft Support https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus .

Explain that you urgently need access to your Personal Vault and provide all the details you can. There’s an option for live chat or to request a callback.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

    Kind regards,

    Edward
