It sounds like you are encountering an issue with permissions when trying to access your Microsoft account for billing purposes. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Check Email Addresses: Ensure that you are signing in with the correct email address that has permissions to manage the billing account. Sometimes users have multiple email addresses, and not all may have access to the billing account.
    2. Sign In with Different Identity: If you have both a personal and a work or school account associated with the same email address, try signing in with the other identity. You can do this by signing in to the Azure portal in an InPrivate/Incognito window and selecting the appropriate account when prompted.
    3. Contact IT Support: If you are part of an organization, it may be helpful to contact your IT support team. They can verify your account permissions and help you gain access to the billing account.
    4. Create a Support Request: If you are unable to resolve the issue, consider creating a support request through the Azure portal for further assistance.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify the correct email account or resolve permission issues related to your billing account.

    Hello Altex,

Thank you for reaching out about the issue you’re experiencing when trying to pay your Microsoft online bill I understand how frustrating it can be to see the message “Switch to an account that has permission” especially when you believe you’re using the correct email address. This usually happens because the account you’re signing in with doesn’t have the necessary admin permissions for billing, even if it was used during setup.

One alternative solution you can try is to confirm whether your email is associated with a personal Microsoft account or a work or school account. Sometimes the same email can exist under two identities and the system may require the one linked to your organization’s subscription. To check this sign in using an InPrivate or Incognito browser session and select the correct identity when prompted. If you’re part of an organization, reaching out to your IT administrator can also help verify permissions and ensure your account is correctly assigned.

If none of these steps resolve the issue you can create a support request through the Microsoft 365 admin center for further assistance.

Could you confirm if your email might be linked to both a personal and organizational account?

I hope this answer is helpful if you have further questions feel free to reply back

    Regards,

    Marcelo
