How do I disable the (stupidly annoying) floating copilot icon in Excel for MacBook using Office 365.

  • I am not an admin user (company policy).
  • I do not have Preferences > Authoring and Proofing Tools > Copilot.
  • I do not have File > Account > Account Privacy > Manage Settings (therefore cannot get to Connected Experiences).
  • I have searched online for answers.

If someone knows how to get rid of this I would be very grateful.

If it's not possible with my user level access, a step-by-step guide for an admin user would be appreciated so I can on send to my sys-ops colleague.

Thank you in advance!

The symbol can be removed only by updating the Office software. If you are in a managed environment [company or organization] check with the IT department.
