My Outlook crashes in a few seconds- the Error message has a lot of information, but this is the top: Error Signature:

Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS

ExceptionEnumString: 1

Exception Code: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS (0x0000000000000010)

Date/Time: 2025-11-25 19:48:29 +0000

Can I fix this? Or do i need to reload it and how? I need my calendar and saved emails.

Hi Marilynn, thanks for sharing the details. Are you using Outlook on Mac or Windows?

On Mac, this EXC_BAD_ACCESS error usually happens when the Outlook profile or cache is corrupted. I recommend quitting Outlook, backing up your data (emails and calendar) via File> Export or by copying your profile from ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/Outlook/Outlook 15 Profiles/, then reinstalling the latest version from Microsoft.

After reinstall, you can import your data or reconnect your accounts. If you prefer not to reinstall, you can try rebuilding your profile via Tools> Accounts> select your account> Advanced> Reset.

Thanks for confirming. Since you are on a Mac mini, this error usually points to a damaged Outlook profile. Before anything, I need to ask if Outlook opens long enough for you to reach the menu bar.

If it does, export your data through File, Export. If it crashes too fast, back up your profile folder in Finder by going to ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/Outlook and copying your profile to a safe location. After the backup, remove Outlook from Applications, then reinstall the current Outlook for Mac from Microsoft. Once installed, open Outlook and import your export or reconnect your accounts to restore your email and calendar.
