Glad to know that it is now working as normal.
Excel update download error in MAU
Excel is failing to update through Microsoft AutoUpdate. The Excel update fails with "Download Error". I have removed and reinstalled MAU and the same error occurs. It seems the error is on the Microsoft Server side, but I am checking to see if others have experienced this issue and found a resolution.

Learn moreIf you're encountering a "Download Error" when trying to update Excel through Microsoft AutoUpdate (MAU), there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
- Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your internet connection is stable and that there are no network issues that could be affecting the download.
- Disable Hardware Acceleration: Sometimes, disabling hardware acceleration can resolve issues with applications not functioning properly. You can do this by going to Excel's Options, selecting Advanced, and checking the box for "Disable hardware graphics acceleration".
- Verify Updates: Make sure that your version of MAU is up to date. You can check for updates manually to ensure you have the latest version.
- Check for Server Issues: If the problem persists, it might be worth checking online forums or Microsoft's support channels to see if there are any known server-side issues affecting downloads.
- Use Manual Update: As a workaround, you can manually download the update packages from the Microsoft website and install them directly.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be beneficial to contact Microsoft Support for further assistance.

2025-11-25T17:37:08.7633333+00:00 I checked the update today and the updates for Outlook and Copilot updated successfully. I then tried Excel again and it worked. It was a new version, so the last one must have had issues.
