Microsoft teams automatically destroys URLs so that they cannot be copy pasted from teams.

Please don't do this.

I wonder if you meant the URL was cut off. If that's the case, try using Ctrl+Shift+V to paste

    Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on your description, I understand that after pasting, Teams automatically removes the raw URL and replaces it with the website's title? Then, when you copy it back out of Teams, you often only retrieve the title text, not the original URL?

If this understanding is correct, to retrieve a clean link you can use the "Paste as Plain Text" feature. This action will force Teams to paste only the raw characters, bypassing its "smart" features.

When you want to retrieve a link to a file stored in Teams. Please do not use the "Copy Link" button directly within Teams. Please open it in SharePoint. Then, copy the URL directly from the browser's address bar. This link is the cleanest key and works most reliably when sharing outside of Teams.

For a better in sight of this issue I suggest you submit your problem in the Feedback Center Ideas · Community. Our product team is in charge of the site, and they constantly check customer reviews and feedback. The higher votes, the more attention the related team will pay on. And a lot of the features are developed and improved based on customer feedback.

If I have not correctly captured the situation you are experiencing, please reply to this email so I can assist you better.

    Looking forward to your response!
