If you're unable to hear sound from Copilot, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:

    1. Check Volume Settings: Ensure that the volume on your PC is turned up and not muted. Sometimes, the audio settings might be adjusted inadvertently.
    2. Audio Output Device: Make sure that the correct audio output device is selected. If you have multiple audio devices, check if the audio is routed to the right one.
    3. Check Headset Connection: If you're using a headset, ensure it is properly connected to the audio jack on your PC. If your headset has physical volume controls, check that they are not muted or turned down.
    4. System Settings: Go to Settings > System > Sound and check if the audio output device is set correctly. You can also check the Sound Control Panel for any disabled devices.
    5. App-Specific Volume: If your system supports app-specific volume settings, ensure that the volume for the Copilot app is not set too low or muted.
    6. Restart the App: Sometimes, simply restarting the Copilot app can resolve audio issues.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, you may want to check for any updates for your operating system or the Copilot app that might address audio issues.

    Hi @Basil Zarkadis

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand that while Copilot is active and responding visually, you are currently unable to hear the voice output, even after restarting your PC. This behavior is often related to how Windows routes audio for specific applications or how the volume mixer is configured for individual system components.

To ensure we identify the exact cause and find the right solution for you, could you please clarify the following details?

    1. When Copilot is answering, do you see the voice animation (the blue wave) moving as if it is speaking, or is the animation static?
    2. Is sound functioning correctly in other applications (e.g., YouTube, music players) on this same device?
    3. Are you currently using a headset, or are you relying on the built-in speakers?

In the meantime, I recommend attempting the following troubleshooting steps, as these frequently resolve audio configuration discrepancies:

Step 1: Check the Volume Mixer

Windows allows individual apps to be muted independently.

    1. Open Copilot and ask a question so it attempts to speak.
    2. While it is processing, right-click the Speaker icon in your taskbar (bottom right) and select Open Volume mixer.
    3. Look for Microsoft Copilot (or Microsoft Edge) in the "Apps" list and ensure the volume slider is up and not muted.

    Step 2: Verify Audio Enhancements

    1. Go to Settings > System > Sound.
    2. Select your active output device (Speakers/Headphones).
    3. If Audio Enhancements are enabled, please toggle them to Off to test if this restores the audio stream.

    Step 3: Repair the Application

    1. Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
    2. Search for Copilot, click the three dots (...) next to it, and select Advanced options.
    3. Click Repair. (This attempts to refresh the app's connections without affecting your data).

Please try these steps and let me know the outcome. Your response on the questions above will help us investigate further if the issue persists.
