On iPad, when I save a file from Outlook to Onedrive, it saves it in a folder that I am not picking

On iPad, using Outlook for iOS, when I save an attachment to OneDrive, it saves the file to a subfolder - how do I change the subfolder. By default I thought it was suppose to save to Attachments folder, but that is not happening.

When you save an attachment, which exact folder path does it appear in (for example, Accounts/Attachments)?
Would you like all attachments to be saved in the default Attachments folder, or do you want to specify a custom folder for future saves?

Currently, Outlook for iOS does not provide an option to set a custom default folder for saving attachments. The available workaround is:

Save the attachment to OneDrive using Outlook.
Use the OneDrive app to move the file to your preferred folder manually.

Outlook for iOS: 5.2545.0 OneDrive: 16.27.3

It saves it in Account\2025\work It is NOT saving it to the Attachments folder

Want to save it to the Attachments folder

In Outlook for iOS Tap on email > Tap on the 3 dots next to the Attachment > Tap on Save to Account > Tap on OneDrive and then the file is saved to Onedrive folder (which is not the attachments folder)

I agree with you on this comment:

Currently, Outlook for iOS does not provide an option to set a custom default folder for saving attachments.

But it isn't saving it to the Attachments folder and somehow is defaulting to a custom default folder. Want to change so it is saving to the Attachments folder

The behavior you are experiencing suggests that Outlook has adopted a dynamic folder path based on previous actions or organizational settings. Kindly follow these steps to try resetting the default folder.

Remove the Existing Folder Structure

Access your OneDrive account through the OneDrive application or via a web browser. Locate the folder path “Account\2025\work.”, move any important files from this folder to a secure location. Once you have confirmed that no critical data will be lost, delete the entire “Account” folder.

Recreate the Attachments Folder

After removing the existing folder structure, return to Outlook for iOS and attempt to save a new attachment using the following process:

Open the email containing the attachment.

Tap on the three dots next to the attachment.

Select “Save to Account.”

Choose OneDrive as the destination.

Outlook should now recreate the default Attachments folder at the root level of your OneDrive account.

Verify the Behavior

Confirm that the newly saved attachment appears in the Attachments folder. If the file continues to save in the previous folder path, sign out of both Outlook for iOS and the OneDrive application, then sign back in to refresh the integration.
