This is for my child's Android device.

I am unable to remove the family safety app from Device Administrator to uninstall it. I can also not remove my child from family group, as every time I try to go to settings or do anything at all on the family app it says the issue is on the family app side and does not let me do anything.

I have tried to remove from the family group, but no luck with that either.

Is there anything i can do to fix this so that the phone becomes usable again?

Thanks,

Ivar Myrum Hagen

To remove the Family Safety app from the Device Administrator on your child's Android device, you can follow these general steps:

    1. Access Device Settings: Go to the device's Settings.
    2. Navigate to Security Settings: Look for Security or Security & Privacy depending on the device model.
    3. Find Device Administrators: Locate Device Administrators or Device admin apps. This may vary based on the Android version or device manufacturer.
    4. Disable Family Safety: Find the Family Safety app in the list and uncheck or disable it. You may need to confirm your choice.
    5. Uninstall the App: After removing it as a device administrator, you should be able to uninstall the Family Safety app from the Apps section in Settings.

If you encounter issues with the Family Safety app itself, such as error messages, you may need to try clearing the app's data:

    1. Go to Settings > Apps > Family Safety.
    2. Tap on Storage and then select Clear Data.

After clearing the data, try the steps above again to remove the app as a device administrator and uninstall it. If problems persist, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.

    Hello,

You need to remove the consent for the family member before you can remove the member.

Log into https://account.live.com > Family using your family organizer account. Then click on the member name tile, choose "manage consent". Then remove the consent first. Then go back to remove the member, it should allow you next.
