Bullet list symbols missing

Hello, my bullet point options in Powerpoint 365 do not work. It's the bullet point symbols themselves. The level 1 bullets work okay, but the level 2 bullet points show up as missing symbols. The pre-set options in the bullet point drop down also have missing symbols. I've tried multiple fonts, multiple OSs, multiple devices, looked around online, but haven't been able to fix it. It will let me manually change change each line of the the level 2+ bullet points to some of the options but not all.Screenshot from 2025-11-16 13-34-19

    Hi @Megan Speer,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on your sharing, the issue with missing symbols is usually due to the font being used for specific bullets doesn't contain the necessary symbol characters. With your PowerPoint interface, you're using PowerPoint web version, and you've even tried different fonts, OSs and devices. Therefore, the problem is most likely embedded in the presentation's design or slide master.

To help you resolve this issue, can you share us more details about the situation? We greatly appreciate your cooperation and understanding:

    • Does the issue occur in all presentations or only in some specific files?
    • Is the issue in the file that you created or was it originally from someone else that use an older version of PowerPoint?
    • Since you mentioned multiple OSs and devices, can you share us which ones have you tried?
    • Are you signed in with a personal Microsoft account or a work/school account?
    • In the meantime, please try downloading the file and opening it in PowerPoint desktop app. After testing, do the bullets display correctly?

Note: Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

I'm looking forward to your reply.
