I've been trying to get OneNote working for a day and a half , and it simply errors out with the following error: Things I've tried are signing into OneDrive first (sign in worked, didn't resolve issue though), and I've also tried to sign into PowerPoint (sign in worked, didn't resolve issue). I've also tried removing my accounts on the android account settings and re-doing it, in addition to clearing data and reinstalling OneNote. I'm on android 15 and HyperOS version 2.0.204.0.

    Hello Korab Arifi,

Thank you for updating and clarifying.

Based on your description, please follow the steps below:

    1. Ensure you have a personal Microsoft account with OneDrive (not work/school).
    2. Move notebooks out of the university tenant
      • On a PC/Mac, sign in to OneNote where access still works (e.g., OneNote for Windows/Mac or OneNote Online in a browser if possible).
      • Export each notebook to local files (OneNote package .onepkg or sections) or copy pages to a new notebook created under your personal OneDrive.
    3. Sign out of organizational account on Android
      • Android Settings > Accounts: remove the university work/school account.
      • OneNote > Settings > Accounts: remove the org account.
      • OneNote > Storage: Clear Cache and Data; then force stop.
      • Reboot the device.
    4. Sign in only with your personal MSA
      • Open OneNote (latest version), sign in with the personal account, and open the notebooks from personal OneDrive.

If you can't proceed those steps, you will need to contact your IT admin for provisioning.

    Hello Korab Arifi,

Thank you for reaching out in Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand you’re having trouble using OneNote on your Xiaomi Pad Pro because it keeps showing an error and won’t let you complete the operation even after trying several fixes.

The error 0xE40105F6 usually means OneNote cannot connect to Microsoft servers. On Xiaomi devices with HyperOS, aggressive battery or network restrictions often block background sync.

You can follow these steps to solve the issue:

    1. Check Internet and Sync Settings
      • Ensure the device has a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
      • Go to Settings > Apps > OneNote > Permissions and confirm network access is allowed.
    2. Update OneNote and System
      • Open Google Play Store, search for Microsoft OneNote, and update to the latest version.
      • Verify HyperOS and Android system updates are installed.
    3. Clear Cache and Data Again
      • Go to Settings > Apps > OneNote > Storage.
      • Tap Clear Cache and Clear Data.
      • Restart the device.
    4. Sign Out and Back In
      • In OneNote, sign out of all accounts.
      • Reboot the device.
      • Sign back in using the same Microsoft account linked to OneDrive.
    5. Check Account Permissions
      • Open OneDrive app and confirm files sync properly.
      • If OneDrive works, OneNote should sync too. If not, remove the account from Settings > Accounts, then add it again.
    6. Disable Battery Optimization
      • Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization.
      • Find OneNote and set it to Don’t optimize.

My account was somehow automatically provisioned to my universitys organization with no permissions at all, so OneNote could not view my notebooks whatsoever since I technically didn't have permission to view the notebooks and it refused to open because of that.
