Help Needed – Quiz Timer Issue in Microsoft Forms

In Microsoft Forms, if you started a quiz and the timer ran out before you could submit your responses, typically, your answers would not be recorded. When the timer expires, the quiz automatically ends, and any unsaved responses are usually lost. However, if your teacher extended the deadline and you reopened the quiz, it may not allow you to recover your previous attempt since the timer had already expired.

To check if any responses were recorded, you can reach out to your teacher or the administrator managing the quiz. They may have access to the responses submitted before the timer ran out, or they can confirm if your attempt was saved before the deadline expired.

For future quizzes, it's advisable to keep an eye on the timer and submit your responses before it runs out to avoid similar issues.

If the timer ran out before you clicked Submit, your responses were not recorded. Microsoft Forms only saves answers after the Submit button is pressed. When your teacher extended the deadline, the form reopened, but your previous attempt remains incomplete because the timer had already expired. 

Unfortunately, Microsoft Forms does not retain partially completed responses after the timer ends. Once the time runs out without submission, the data is discarded. 

In this case, I recommend reaching out to your teacher, explaining what happened, and asking if they can allow you to retake the quiz from the beginning. For future attempts, please make sure to submit your answers before the timer expires to avoid losing your work.
