New Outlook Mac changing fonts at autocorrects

With the latest Outlook: Version 16.102.3 (25110228) we're getting super annoying issues:

  1. Font randomly changes (not in preview, but we only see it after sending) probably when the new aggressive auto correct ("AI Powered"), which makes our emails look horrible and unprofessional. We have a custom default font configured for new mails. Words that are probably autocorrected by the new aggressive auto correct seem to default to the default font (below some examples).
  2. The new autocorrect is super aggressive and changes words even before they're fully typed, also in the past you could undo autocorrects (extremely handy when writing in a language that Outlook doesn't understand). This no longer works! When an autocorrect is (incorrectly) executed, we have to go back and undo the mistake (then sometimes it still autocorrects it again!). In the past I could just press CONTROL-Z and the autocorrect would revert.
  3. Control+Shift+V no longer works!

Here's a font changing example, again it looks perfectly fine and uniform at time of writing, only after it's sent it shows up like this!

Please attend to this, thanks!

    Hi @Michel G

Thank you for posting your question in the Q&A Forum.

I completely understand how frustrating it must be when the font changes unexpectedly after sending emails, especially when you’ve set a custom default font. This issue, along with the overly aggressive editing behavior and the broken Control + Z undo function, often appears after recent updates to Outlook for Mac. Formatting problems like these tend to arise when new features are introduced.

While we wait for Microsoft to release a permanent fix, please try the following temporary workarounds:

    Disable Connected Experiences

    • In Outlook, go to Settings (or Preferences) > Privacy
    • Find the Optional Connected Experiences section.
    • Uncheck the option to "Turn on optional connected experiences".

This should help mitigate some of the issues caused by the new cloud-powered features.

    Clear Application Data

    • Restart Outlook, then go to the Help menu in the top bar.
    • Select Clear Application Data

    User's image

    • In the pop‑up window, check the boxes for "Experimental Features" and "Identities"
    • Click the Clear button. Restart Outlook again and test to see if the font and autocorrect behavior improve.

As you mentioned, the Control + Shift + V shortcut is no longer working as expected. You can try using Command + Shift + V instead. Alternatively, you can go to Edit > Paste and Match Formatting from the menu.

These workarounds should help alleviate the issues you’re experiencing until a permanent fix is available.

Please note that this is a temporary workaround. We understand it may not be ideal, might not work for everyone, and could potentially need to be repeated after future updates.

If the issue persists, I recommend submitting feedback directly within Outlook by selecting Help > Give Feedback. This is the most effective way to help Microsoft gather diagnostic data and prioritize a permanent solution for this recurring problem.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. I hope these workarounds help you maintain your workflow while we await a more permanent fix.
