Subject: Error Accessing the “Assignments” Tab in Microsoft Teams After Update

Detailed Description of the Issue: After the recent Microsoft Teams update, neither I (the teacher) nor the students are able to access the “Assignments” tab within the class team. When attempting to open the tab, the following error message appears:

“Something went wrong. Correlation ID: [Moderator note: personal info removed]” [Button: Try again]

The issue occurs consistently across all devices and platforms tested (desktop app, mobile app, and web version), indicating that it is not a local problem.

Additional Context:

Team type: Class Team

Issue onset: Immediately after the recent Teams update.

Team settings: No configuration changes were made prior to the issue.

Actions already attempted (unsuccessfully):

Restarted Teams and cleared cache.

  Tested on different devices and browsers.

     Verified team permissions and member roles.
```**Impact:** This error completely prevents the creation, viewing, and management of assignments, directly affecting the continuity of classroom activities.
**Request:** Please check if there is a known issue affecting the “Assignments” tab in Class Teams following the latest Teams update and provide a solution or technical guidance to restore access.
    The issue you are experiencing with the "Assignments" tab in Microsoft Teams after the recent update could be related to a known problem affecting the functionality of certain features in Class Teams. While the specific error message you provided is not detailed in the context, there are general troubleshooting steps and considerations that can be applied:
    1. Check for Known Issues: Sometimes, after an update, certain features may experience temporary issues. It's advisable to check the Microsoft Community forums or support pages for any announcements regarding known issues with the latest Teams update.
    2. Permissions and Roles: Ensure that the permissions for the Class Team are correctly set, as any changes might affect access to the Assignments tab. Since you've already verified this, it may be worth rechecking or temporarily adjusting permissions to see if it resolves the issue.
    3. Clear Cache and Restart: You've mentioned clearing the cache and restarting Teams, which is a good step. If this hasn't resolved the issue, consider uninstalling and reinstalling the Teams application to ensure that all components are updated correctly.
    4. Access via Different Browsers: While you have tested on different devices and browsers, ensure that you are using supported browsers like Edge, Chrome, or Internet Explorer, as some features may not work optimally on all browsers.
    5. Contact Support: If the issue persists, reaching out to Microsoft Support directly may provide you with specific guidance tailored to your situation. They can also check if there are any backend issues affecting your Class Team.
    If you continue to face challenges, monitoring the situation for updates from Microsoft regarding the Teams application may also be beneficial.
    Hello @Carlos Vieira,
    Good day! Thank you for posting your valuable question on Microsoft Q&A forum.
    We are currently aware of an ongoing service issue impacting the Assignments app in Microsoft Teams for certain Education (EDU) tenants located in the Europe region. This issue may cause assignments to remain in a loading state and fail to open as expected.
    If you are an administrator in the affected region, please note the following:
    • Current Status: Microsoft is actively investigating the root cause of this issue.
    • Mitigation Efforts: Targeted fixes are being applied progressively to reduce the impact on affected tenants.
    • Service Impact: While these fixes are helping, the problem has not yet been fully resolved and may continue to affect some users.
    If you are not an admin or not located in Europe, please let me know, and I’ll be happy to assist you with troubleshooting steps tailored to your situation.
    We understand the importance of uninterrupted access to Assignments for educators and students, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Our engineering teams are working diligently to restore full functionality as quickly as possible.
    Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work toward a resolution. We will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.
    Our college is located in UK, and we are experiencing the same problem. Can someone at Microsoft let us know if they've got any ideas of how long until the issue gets fixed? Students are not able to submit their assignments and that is causing a lot of stress.
