Copilot app NOT showing Download file "cards". I have tried running the Copilot Connectivity Tool with no issues. I have run "Repair" and "Reset" on Copilot in Windows App / Settings. I am logged in with My Microsoft User Account. I have tried all suggestions.

Is there something else that I can try or do to get the Copilot created download?

Thank you,

Tony

If the Download file cards are not showing in the Copilot app despite trying the Copilot Connectivity Tool and performing repairs and resets, consider the following additional steps:

    1. Check License and Permissions: Ensure that your Microsoft account is assigned a license that supports the features of Copilot. If you're part of an organization, confirm with your admin that Copilot is not blocked by any organizational policies.
    2. Internet Connectivity: Verify that your internet connection is stable and meets the network requirements for Copilot to function correctly.
    3. Update Channel: Ensure that your organization is using the Current Channel or Monthly Enterprise Channel for Microsoft 365 Apps, as Copilot may not function correctly on the Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel.
    4. Privacy Settings: Check your privacy settings to ensure that Copilot is not blocked by any privacy controls.
    5. Reinstall the App: If none of the above steps work, consider uninstalling and then reinstalling the Copilot app to ensure all components are correctly set up.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, you may need to contact Microsoft support for further assistance.

I have tried all of the above. And I have tried different browsers. And I have tried Windows vs. Cloud version. Still noting. I have even tried to explicitly as Copilot to download my file since card not showing...but nothing...all my permissions and connectivity experiences are correct. It worked once for me. But no more. I am using Excel.

    Hi @Anthony

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I appreciate the detailed information you provided regarding your recent experience with the Copilot application. I understand that while attempting to generate a Python script and export it as a .txt file, the assistant indicated that a download card was available, but the card itself did not show up in the interface.

Based on your description, it appears the Copilot service is successfully generating the content internally, but the interface is currently not rendering the visual "card" element required to initiate the file transfer. This behavior can sometimes occur due to specific privacy configurations or how the interface handles temporary data exchange in the current environment.

Since you have already tried a Repair and Reset of the application, I recommend checking your "Connected Experiences" settings, which govern how Copilot interacts with external content.

    1. Verify Privacy Settings: Ensure that "Optional connected experiences" are enabled, as these are often required for Copilot to process and return downloadable content.
    2. Alternative Retrieval Method (Immediate Solution): To ensure you can get your Python script immediately without relying on the download card rendering, please try the following prompt in Copilot:
    • "Please do not generate a downloadable file. Instead, output the full Python script inside a code block in this chat window so I can copy it directly." This method bypasses the file-generation tool and displays the code directly in the chat, allowing you to copy/paste it into a local text file.

Please try the steps outlined above to check if it helps you retrieve your code. I hope this information proves useful. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out.

I look forward to your response.
