I have Microsoft Edge as my browser but use Google Search as my default search. Lately, I show a (+) at the start of my blank search bar. I cannot get rid of it. I even called Geek Squad and they could not get rid of it. WHY IS IT THERE? And, how does one get rid of it?

I did go into the Microsoft Edge "Extensions" settings. It is located at the top. Near the top search/ toolbar, well left of the 3 dots. I went into "Manage Extensions" section. I found that the "UBlock" App had been turned on, likely during some sort of "update." I turned it off and walla! The plus sign in the search bar disappeared. I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing actually. Time will tell.

The (+) sign at the beginning of your Google Search Bar in Microsoft Edge could be related to the browser's address bar functionality. In Microsoft Edge, the address bar allows you to enter website URLs and search the web, and it provides suggestions based on your input. However, the specific reason for the (+) sign is not detailed in the provided context.

To troubleshoot or remove the (+) sign, you can try the following steps:

    1. Check if any extensions or settings in Microsoft Edge might be causing this behavior.
    2. Reset the Edge settings to default, which may help eliminate any unusual behavior.
    3. Ensure that your browser is updated to the latest version.
    4. If the issue persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.

Unfortunately, the context does not provide specific information about the (+) sign or how to remove it, so you may need to explore these general troubleshooting steps.
