Teams and Copilot keep re-installing

Hello, I installed Teams and Copilot on my Android mobile device under my work profile but no longer require them for work. I have uninstalled them directly from the icon and through the Play Store but both keep reinstalling automatically. I've even tried flagging them in the Play Store directly but that doesn't work either. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Hi @Nicolle Smith

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

It appears your device is currently managed under a work profile, which may be enforcing automatic reinstallation of certain apps like Microsoft Teams and Copilot.

When a device is enrolled in a mobile device management (MDM) system, often through services like Microsoft Intune or GoDaddy’s MDM, your organization can push apps to your device remotely. Even if you uninstall them manually, the system may reinstall them to comply with company policy.

Here are some steps you can try to migrate this issue:

1/ Check if the work profile is still active

    • Go to Settings > Select Accounts and backup
    • Look for a Work profile or Managed accounts.  User's image User's image
    • If it’s still active, your company’s admin (or GoDaddy’s MDM if you're using that) may be enforcing app installations.

2/ Disable or remove the work profile

If you no longer need the work profile:

    • Go to Settings > Select Accounts and backup > Managed accounts (or Settings > Security > Device admin apps).
    • Choose the work or school account that you want to remove
    • Tap “Remove work profile”.  User's image
    • This will delete all work-related apps and data, including Teams and Copilot.

Note: Removing the work profile will also remove access to any work emails, files, or apps tied to that profile.

3/ Contact your IT admin or MDM (mobile device management) support

If you don’t see an option to remove the work profile, or if it keeps reappearing:

    • Your device might be enrolled in MDM.
    • You’ll need to contact your IT admin or MDM support to unenroll your device from MDM.

Note: Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

I'm looking forward to your reply.
