We have been testing whether we want to use Loop as our collaboration layer, and some folks have windows laptops, some have macs. Currently it seems those with macbooks are having issues sharing loop components to both teams chats and outlook emails, getting the message in the screenshot attached as 'auth fail'. When I try the same, my loop component sharing works. This is for a components in a workspace that I have provided editor access to the people involved, and from meeting notes from a teams invite owned by the person attempting to share the component on macbook. Please advise how we can fix this as this is stopping our adoption!

    Dear @Hirst, Isobel,

Good day! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!

Based on your description, I understand that you’re experiencing issues where Loop components shared via Teams chat and Outlook show an “auth fail” error on Mac devices, while they work fine on Windows. You’ve granted editor access and tested across mixed environments, but Mac users still encounter this error when sharing components from meeting notes.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this issue.

To understand the situation better and provide you with the most suitable support, could you confirm the following information:

    • Are all affected users on macOS? Which version of macOS and Office apps are they using?
    • Is the issue only with components linked to Teams meeting notes or also standalone Loop components?
    • Can the affected users open and edit the Loop component directly in the Loop app?
    • Does “auth fail” appear immediately or after loading?
    • Are the affected users able to share via Loop on the web?
    • If possible, could the Mac users use a Windows device, log in to their affected account and check if the issue persists? This would confirm whether the problem is specific to macOS or related to the users' accounts or permissions.

Your confirmation would be very helpful in ensuring you receive the most suitable support!

If you’re able to share a bit more about your situation, I might be able to suggest some helpful next steps.

Kindly let me know when there are updates or if you need further assistance. Any updates you’re able to share would be really helpful. I appreciate your time and look forward to hearing how things are going!

Thank you for your time and patience.

I am having this problem as well and cannot figure out a solution, here are my answers to this.

    • Are all affected users on macOS? Which version of macOS and Office apps are they using? No not all users just myself, MACOS 15.6.1, Outlook Version 16.103.3 (25113013)
    • Is the issue only with components linked to Teams meeting notes or also standalone Loop components? This is just the Loop components that come in my desktops email. It works online as example.
    • Can the affected users open and edit the Loop component directly in the Loop app? Yes
    • Does “auth fail” appear immediately or after loading? Yes after loading the email.
    • Are the affected users able to share via Loop on the web? Yes
    • If possible, could the Mac users use a Windows device, log in to their affected account and check if the issue persists? This would confirm whether the problem is specific to macOS or related to the users' accounts or permissions. I beleive it is the account permissions on my MAC, but where would that be stored.

Also FYI I have tried deleting my Outlook account and re-creating it in Outlook

    Thanks for any help
