How to clear Outlook (Outlook.com and Outlook App) Subscriptions List(s)

I noticed the Subscriptions List under Settings>Mail>Subscription and selected "unsubscribe" to many different e-mail addresses. Unfortunately, the result is almost as bad as the original list. Instead of simply unsubscribing, it creates a new list below called "Lists You've Unsubscribed From." I now have a list of 100+ different e-mail addresses sitting there (that were apparently in my junk mail). There is no way to clear the list. The only option is a ... menu to block the sender. Selecting that option creates an entry in blocked sender list. Clearing the blocked sender list repopulates the unsubscribed list. I just want to clear that list and delete everything...like it was before. I don't even see a way to reset Outlook.com to do this. Since New Outlook pulls from this data, I can't delete or manage it there either. How can I clear the unsubscribed list?

    Hi,

Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, Outlook.com doesn’t currently let you clear or reset the “Unsubscribed List” in the Subscriptions Manager. When you unsubscribe from emails, Outlook moves them to a separate list but there’s no way to delete those entries. Blocking senders just shifts them to the Blocked list, and removing them from there brings them right back. There are a few things people have tried to tidy things up, though none of them are perfect.

Some users have had limited success using Shift+Click to select multiple entries and then choosing to delete or block them , but this doesn’t actually remove them from the unsubscribed list, it just hides them in the blocked list. So it’s more of a workaround than a real fix.

Another approach is to block the senders and just ignore the blocked list since it doesn’t show up in the Subscriptions view. Again, this doesn’t delete anything it just keeps things out of sight.

Some users try bulk-selecting and blocking to hide them, but it’s not a true fix. The Outlook app also syncs this data from the web version, so changes made online show up in the app but you still can’t manage the list from there.

Microsoft seems aware of the issue, so if it’s causing trouble, I’d suggest submitting feedback through Outlook’s Help menu or their feedback portal.

    Hope this helps,

    All the best,

    Edward
