Hi,
Thanks for sharing your experience! If you're using a Microsoft 365 Personal account, there's a key limitation to be aware of: it doesn't support linking a custom domain for email use. That means you won’t be able to set up an address like ******@yourdomain.com in Outlook, since this feature is only available with Microsoft 365 Business or Family plans that include domain hosting and access to the Admin Center.
If you'd like to use your GoDaddy domain for email, one option is to upgrade to a Microsoft 365 Business Basic or Standard plan. These plans give you access to the Admin Center, where you can add your domain, verify DNS records, and create custom email addresses.
Alternatively, GoDaddy offers Microsoft 365 email hosting that includes domain integration. You can manage your domain and email setup directly through their dashboard, which lets you use a custom email address without needing access to Microsoft’s Admin Center.
If upgrading isn’t something you want to do right now, you could consider setting up email forwarding from your domain to your Outlook address. You might also be able to configure Outlook to send mail as your domain using SMTP settings, though this approach is a bit more technical and not officially supported under the Personal plan.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you’d like help exploring any of these options further.
Best regards,
Edward
