For example if I change my tab from youtube to reddit the top third of the browser window will still show youtube (albeit its only an "overlay" so when clicked it will click on reddit stuff).
most of the time though the tab switcher will freeze when opening new tabs and will take a good few seconds to show the new tabs, it appears to be just a visual freeze since the tabs work fine too
This started happening after changing gpu (RX 470 to RX 9070) and updating windows and doesn't happen anywhere else but on Edge
My drivers are all updated and I tried removing all drivers and reinstalling but the problem persists.

Click the 3 dots at the top right of Edge and select Settings.
In the search box in Edge settings, type hardware.
Disable the Hardware Acceleration setting.
Restart Edge and check if that resolves the problem.

If not, download the Edge installer from this link and use it to re-install Edge on top of the existing Edge installation.
Still seems to happen, tried the repair option as well
If those steps did not resolve the problem, and this is only happening with the Edge browser, the best option is to click the 3 dots at the top right of Edge, choose the Feedback option and report this to the Edge Developers so they can investigate the problem and provide a patch for this.
