Hi david robert,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!
If CapCut Web Editor feels laggy in Microsoft Edge, the issue is likely related to hardware acceleration, graphics settings, or system resource limits. You’ve already tried the right first steps, here are some more advanced options:
1 - Enable/Disable hardware acceleration
- Go to Edge Settings > System and Performance > System
- Turn ON Use hardware acceleration when available
- If it's already on, try turning it OFF
- Restart Edge then test Capcut again
2 - Enable efficiency mode:
- Still in System and Performance > choose Performance instead
- Make sure Efficiency mode is ON and Balanced
- Turn OFF Enable efficiency mode when connected to power
- Restart Edge then test Capcut again
3 - Check Experimental Flags
- Type
edge://flagsin the address bar > Search for:- GPU Rasterization
- Zero-Copy Rasterizer
- Enable both entries and restart Edge to test Capcut performance
4 - Test with another browser
- If you have another browser, try editing with Capcut
- This will confirm if the issue is caused by Microsoft Egde or not
- If the behavior persists in that browser, it's likely that your hardware has limitations
In case the performance remains poor, CapCut desktop app is more optimized for heavy editing than the web version. Let me know if anything above improves the smoothness of your editing experience with Capcut.
